About Victoria Hospital

The Government Victoria Hospital, Kollam established in 1887 is placed in the history as the first maternity hospital in Travancore.

Now the hospital is stepping towards new developments and progress. Kollam district is the sanctuary of coastal and hilly areas and majority of the population engage in traditional industries like cashew,coir,handloom,fishing etc and Govt. Victoria hospital is the centre of refuge for the common and poor people.who belongs to these categories.

The hospital is situated at the heart of kollam city is hardly 2 kms from the kollam railway station and is very adjacent to the KSRTC bus stand. In the health care sector, Victoria hospital has made several achievements and is also known as the hospital of ‘women and children’.

The hospital has made a huge leap towards quality patient care and utilization of advanced technologies in patient care over the last few years. Govt.Victoria hospital is a 273 bedded hospital with dual specialities;Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Pediatrics .

The hospital has a monthly average outpatient (OP) of 15500 ,inpatient (IP) of 1300 and around 500 deliveries.
